I will PM you some of the locations if interested, but most do involve a hike or backpack trip into and a good quality 4x4 to access. There are a few spots you can access with a good high clearance vehicle, but some of these newer sites are pretty rough roads to get into, but you can drive right to them. I headed out to one site not long ago and had three tires spiked from traps set by the marijuana growers. I carry a tire pump and repair kit with me, and have a pretty capable Toyota Tacoma with recovery gear. I should have been a boyscout as I try to be prepared for most mishaps and have a full tool set in my truck.
I have an older town site I want to backpack into. It would be a 4x4 into an old campground and then a 2-4 mile hike to 5 different cabins from the late 1800s. It was long lost but I saw it mentioned on a 1890s map. I know the locations and just need to head in and find the cabin sites (nails). I am getting older and have some health issues but try to get as much adventure in as I can, while I can. I just love being outdoors. The adventure is half the fun
