But you lost me on the settings choices. My Discrimination on a Bandido II microMAX or Silver Sabre microMAX is ALWAYS set at the minimum, but I ALWAYS adjust for a proper slight-audio Threshold hum and run the Sensitivity as high as possible w/o chatter. Reducing the Threshold and using such a low Sensitivity can have a negative impact on depth and smaller-target detection. You're already limited with that coil choice anyway.

On the plus side, you got out, had fun, and made some finds as we're edging into winter, and that's great! I hope you can work in another trip out soon. I ought to make a drive over your direction to try and find a few sites to hunt before we get snow .... again.

Keep up the finding!

Monte,

In your first paragraph above, you are of course speaking of the settings you ALWAYS use on a Bandido II MicroMAX in the Discriminate mode.

For hunting Gold and Silver jewelry in the All Metal mode, how would you set up the Bandido II MicroMAX controls ?

I ask this question because I like to hunt in AM mode (for a little more depth and initial target information) until I hear a good jewelry-sounding target and then I switch into Disc. mode and thumb the Disc. dial on up the arc to see where the signal breaks off if in fact it does, and how the signal characteristics sound breaking off and coming in again as I thumb the dial back down the arc. This process gives me an indication of whether the target is (a) worth digging or (b) most likely trash.

So again, how would you initially set up in AM mode to find Gold and Silver jewelry with the B2µMAX ?

Thanks,
ToddB64

I understand. The CleanSweep kind of limits depth on its own.

Monte 54 December 13, 2019 06:53AM

Clean Sweep depth decrease but area of detection greatly increased.
