I may have been lucky and picked up an amazing Toltec II. Thinking it may have been a hot one.
Super smooth stable all metal mode, great discrimination and it was deeper than any Tesoro I have owned, almost as good as the Tejon.
The meter was only good for items to about 5", never relied on it too much.

This is one detector I regret letting go. It would have been nice if Tesoro redesigned it to fit into a Cortes Housing.

I did do some capacitor and resistor mods. Ran the meter cable thru the handle tubing a moved the selector switch to the meter faceplate.
Tried all sorts of configurations to get the perfect balance and make it more usable. Never did like the control box under the meter.

Years later, when building my PI's, the thought came to me that I could have repackaged it into a housing like the MXT. By that time it was long sold.

I dig it with a Nokta/Makro product.
And then some.. Blisstool V5, White's IDX
