Ive gotta agree with UtahRich. Does seem to be a SMF hate fest around here. I must say ive had really good luck with both machines. Actually I have good luck with anything I pick up pretty much. Not bragging just love the hobby so I take time to learn the machines usually. They all have good reasons for me liking them all. Since I Met Monte and heard all his success with Tesoro machines I took the time to learn them and have always kept at least one around all the time. Right now I am currently hoarding a mint Troy Shadow X2 with 9" coil lol. In all my time swinging both single VS SMF machines its really easy to say single freq machines only have slight advantages in only a couple small areas.Even that is hard to prove. Im not gonna get into what those areas are because its just my opinion, someone else might see different results in a different area. But for me if I could only have one machine is would be a D2. My reason for picking the D2 is because I believe it is the most universal machine that can be setup to run good at any site from ghost towns to the bottom of the ocean floor. The old stuff is still fun for me to just grab and go and still enjoy and have fun.
