Retiring an old favorite Garrett Pro Pointer AT . . . . RIP sad smiley

My Garrett Pro Pointer AT, that I've had since I retired my X-1 pinpointer for my Etrac several years ago, was officially removed from service. It was acting up some earlier this year, intermittently not working and then working again. More recently, added to the intermittent operation, the LED would stay on well after switching off, draining the 9v battery.

It has had A LOT of use. No gripes here.

I ordered another this weekend and it arrived today. grinning smiley It was nice to slip it in with my recovery tools ready for the next outing. thumbs up

When I am snowed-In and looking for things to do besides reading the battles on the detector forums, I'll take the old one apart and see if I can isolate the trouble. Till then, it is nice to have a 'carrot' riding shotgun for use with my 800.
