Brief off-topic back to you, Harold, ILL.

I always liked CZs and found some of my best coins with one. I been using them over 20 years though so know all the little needle bounces deep coins give past 10".
My ground is mild to moderate also.
They tend to like deep nails, But they also like deep coins. In this area for deep turf silver park hunting CZs and Explorer/Etracs are still king.
Ghost town hunting like you do probably different though.

I started my CZ adventure with a '6a' about '96, but as soon as I got a '5' I enjoyed it mode. Had several, and had a very terrible experience with a '3D' that fell way short of the '5' in performance. They could do 'OK' on some deeper targets in urban Coin Hunting places, and I'n high-moderate to very ugly mineralized environments. But overall during that period I had and used a CZ, I had better deep-coin performance in those large and open grassy parks from my XLT w/'Bushwhack' program or my 6000 Pro XL, renamed an XL Pro, which is what I favored over time.

But you are correct, none of the CZ's ever, with any coil, brought me the performance I needed in the dense Iron Nail and other ferrous contaminated ghost towns and other old-use and very littered sites. I devote 90% or more of my time at such places since mid-'83 so the CZ's were often left at home except for specific urban use.. Part of that problem was due to their dominant-use frequency.

To bring this discussion back 'on-topic' on the Garrett Forum, I am very impressed to see the two directions the engineers have gone with the new APRX. Providing the consumer with a functional range of frequencies to select from, or an option to make use of a Multi-Frequency approach which might prove beneficial .. at times .. depending upon how their chosen frequencies are weighted.

Not to mention it will definitely be lighter weight and far more comfortable to use, and that can be very important fo some of us as we age and deal with impaired mobility. Oh, to be younger and healthier again.thinking
