Well, Monte was there on the trip when i eyeballed a Barber half...in an area that should have seen more detectors than we can count. Admittedly, i do eyeball a few goodies before running the coil over them....but a small amount of the sum total.
You know, i think we just find certain things that speak to us. I've found the V3i to speak to me and i think we compliment each other....but the last several goods finds were with the IDX Pro and the Mx Sport. I feel like a lot of the time its just keeping the pace and continuing on, even when it's been 6 hours since I found anything good. It's easy fro the eyes to get tired, the back to ache, and the head to hurt from the pinging....but then that great find shows up and everything is right in the world again!
I do think that SMF is an advantage, but it can take some time to figure out what the advantage is...and it may require the manufacturer to provide the right visual queues that allow you to use those distinguishing characteristics of SMF.
So, i'm interested in seeing how those of you that ordered the APEX find it in the field. What you do/don't find useful.
