Thanks for the clarification Monte.
I'm interested in knowing what your GB number is in Oregon. I'm at 92 and wondering if the quirky things I'm seeing with the Apex park hunting are due to the high mineraliztion. Did a 1 hour park hunt last night in a pretty nail ridden section and also moved to a cleaner area but still saw some of the same issues. Could also be EMI so might not be the ground at all. Running the Apex sensitivity 2 bars from the top. While hunting along in coin mode iron audio off in MF I'm getting all sorts of high tones and pops. Shallow coins are easy to discern but numbers are all over the place on anything more than a few inches deep. When I switch to Zero mode obviously I'm now hearing a lot of iron tones mixed with high tones and pops in the nail ridden area but this continues to some extent in the clean areas as well. Yes it could be iron falsing, but if it is it's worse than any other metal detector I've owned. I noticed this to some extent while I was using it at home but it's worse at the park. The park is however right close to the mountains.
Watched a video on YouTube last night with someone who was experiencing the same thing in a park he was hunting. So I'm interested in hearing your experience with the Apex so far. I didn't try single frequency last night but probably should have. I'll try to get back out tonight and give it another go.
