Some time ago ... I came to similar results using my copy of the Monte nailboard separation test ...which showed very well the difference in separation performance ... between the detectors tested ...
I've been testing my detectors with each other for years and it was okay .. at least for me ..
.....But the truth is, it's best to have Mr. Monte's original separation test....
"Standardization" in testing Nailboard test is important ... and therefore Monte's Performance Nailboard Test ..... is a very important test..because it allows detectors worldwide to test 2D -2.5D separation in iron .. for a given detector tested. according to the exact same test protocol ...
I myself used a copy of the Monte Separation Test from the AHRPS forum for several years .. but in a direct comparison with the organization of the Separation Test from Mr. Monte ... I found out that Orginal has a more demanding 1st position of the coin ... and a slightly less demanding 2nd position of the coin ... compared to copies of my Ahrps separation test ..
This difference was responsible for a different thickness and also the weight of nails with a European dimension ...
Therefore, I admit to accurate testing is really the best original test of Mr. Monte ..
There is one more thing ... not every detector passes such a test..when sweeping normal coils at normal speed ... some detectors definitely need a slowing down of sweeping ...., or they are highly sensitive to the height of the coil above the nails and the target ... ,, and it will also do something in the overall evaluation of the detector in the test ..
The experience gained in such testing is very useful and ..valuable,..showing which the detector .....to what extent can sweep the coils of a given brand of detector to achieve the best results in separation in iron,,,,
