A weeks vacation with the Apex

September 28, 2020 03:46PM
So far I have been on vacation since a week ago last Friday with this week to go. The Apex and I have been on river banks, the beach and numerous local parks/ballfields. The more I use it the more Im understanding what its trying to tell me. Since my last post indicating a potential issue with the headphones, Im happy to say it must have been operator error. Other than a couple of lost connections of maybe a second or two the headphones have performed great and I am a fan of wireless. I visited a park with a grass volleyball area. I walked several passes with the Apex and then walked the same with the MXT. It added to my confidence in the Apex when the MXT failed to hit any missed targets. Not saying I possibly missed something with both detectorssmiling smiley. Running the Apex in MF, Zero or Relic mode on the river and beach performed great. The Multi Freq. salt mode is a winner in the wet sand. Other than a little change and a pair of sunglasses my beach finds weren't exciting. This was the North side of the Garibaldi jetty though so not a whole lot of traffic. Im heading to Lincoln City tomorrow morning. My note worthy find was Saturday in a ballfield. I didnt know what it was until I wiped the dirt away so I could read the stampings. .925 Tiffany and Co. ingot pendant. The clasp was broken off but I found it in the hole also, unfortunately no chain. It is engraved Owen 04. I found one like it with the chain on the big E for $190. I also found the religious ring in the same field. With the laser etching and engraving inside, its an eye catching ring even if its not a precious metal.
Swinging the Apex and then jumping over to the MXT or XLT is incredible when it comes to weight and balance. The whites with the 6" coil balance well but dang they are heavy compared. I can really feel them in the back and shoulders after just a couple of hours.

Garrett Apex, Whites MXT w/ 5.9 Eclipse coil, Whites XLT w/ Blue Max 600 coil, Tesoro Bandido 2 Micro Max, Garrett Carrot
