I picked up the Ripper coil from Kickndirt and have only an hour or so infield time with it. Hopefully the break in rain forecast for tomorrow holds true and I can get some more time in with it. I was quite happy with its performance during that short hunt.
The Apex & 'Ripper' coil are an ideal match for me to cover the bulk of my day-to-day detecting needs. Very comfortable, yet ample performance for most places.

I have a Nel Superfly on order that Im excited to put to use in some more open areas and especially at the beach.
Sand and my cane and impaired mobility don't get along very well, except for a few firmly-packed freshwater beaches. I bought the NEL Super Fly for a T2+ just to do some depth comparisons. It' is a very light-weigh cil, and I like it better than the T2+'s standard 11" BiAxial coil. I compared it against the 11" round Simplex + and 9X12 Vanquish 540 and 8½X11 'Raider' coil from Garrett, and when finished I am quite comfortable with the 'Raider' coil for open-area searches with my Apex
That said, I do like the NEL 5" 'Sharp' coil to complement the other coils for the really dense litter or working in and around a lot of brush or rubble.
It's always good to pick-and-choose the coils that are going to serve our needs.

Now, if I could just pick-and-choose some weather I might be able to get out and enjoy some detecting.
Monte.
