I was able to make a couple of jonts over the weekend trying out the Nel SuperFly coil on my Apex. Both outings I was operating in both Relic and Jewelry mode in MF with the sensitivity 1 bar shy of max. The first trip was to the field Ive been recovering numerous HotWheel cars. Working the area I nabbed another car along with a $1.35 in clad. I thought I had a Tootsie Toy but after washing it the only marking is a 10 on the underside. The second outing was to a field I haven't hunted in ages. Along with several dollars in clad I scored a small .925 silver ring and a pendant. I was hoping the pendant was gold but once washed off I could see the solder. I'm not sure what the stone is. It reminds me of pink quartz.
The SuperFly is really nice to swing. Its light and very well balanced and for these reasons I favor it over the Viper. Pinpointing was easy and I easily separated several targets that were in very close proximity of each other. The only issue I came across was at the first site. As I drew near the street something was throwing out a lot of interference causing chatter that increased as I got closer. Both the other Apex coils along with the Simplex and SP24 coil picked up a little of it but the SuperFly was not liking that area. Even switching frequencies and dropping sensitivity had no effect I found it interesting because the second site had huge transmission towers and high voltage lines in the area and the coil ran very smooth. Im anxious now to give it a run on the beach.
