Thank you for the response back Monte. Your findings are what I anticipated. I haven't noticed much of a difference in detection depth between the Ripper coil and the NEL Superfly. I purchased the NEL for large open areas to cover the ground quicker especially on the beach. Unfortunately since buying the coil I have yet to get it on the sand. Life has kept me too busy to make the 2 hour drive west. Im fortunate to have 2 hours of detecting time in a day. I did spend a little time with the Superfly on a sand volleyball court. Other than a little interference from the power lines it performed well. The smaller Ripper coil in the same location didn't pick up any of that interference.
