I have spent a lot of time watching all sorts of You Tube and other videos. Hunting in the USA, the UK and elsewhere
(if I can understand what they say), with some being modern or currently made, and others from the past 4-7 years. I am not talking about the videos done to promote or sell a particular make or model detector. I am talking about people out for a good time just metal detecting. Plowed fields, forests, old town sites, parks, yards, you name it, just metal detecting hobbyists doing what they enjoy.
What I have noticed is that everyone seems to be finding good targets at similar depths, from shallow to deep. Many brands and models are used, and I notice a lot of Fisher F-75's and F-19's, a good number of Tesoro model's, Minelabs, especially the Equinox, being the most-used 'foreign'
(to the USA) model, but perhaps the most often used detector has been a Garrett. Mainly the AT Pro and AT MAX, and now the Apex.
I have seen quite a few where people have been detecting for quite some time and used to use the AT Pro or AT MAX but have switched over to the Apex. Staying with Garrett but moving to a lighter, handier and well designed unit.
Just kind of interesting how so many videos pushing a newer product seem to downplay what has been around for a while and proven itself. Just thought I'd comment after watching a lot of random videos that came up the past two days.
