I am interested in the Axiom for Nugget Hunting, but if I were able to move around better I would also work it out for jewelry hunting lake and reservoir beaches.
As for gold nuggets, it was in the late '80s when I worked the coil over the best nuggets and that was in California, a 5 dwt (1/4 ounce) and an 8 dwt. If I were healthy and mobile today I would hunt any potential site but concentrat on both Nevada and California to hopefully find some bigger specimens.
The June 7th thru 11th WTHO next year will be fun even though small to very-small specimens will be found. Also enjoyable and interesting as a nice 'difference' from Coin & Jewelry Hunting.
I miss the time around the Portland metro area where the annual gold and silver jewelry could be sold to cover the cost of a new Axiom.
