Rich: the Equinox has been my primary detector since I purchased one last spring. It has replaced my F75 ltd2 as my primary detector and I'm comfortable with using it. I shortened up the shaft to work closer to my feet than I did with the Fisher and the balance with the big coil is better for me. Not happy with the battery or the headphone set up, but have a custom headphone extension cable for it, wired to the back of the armrest and using my Sunray Pro Gold phones with it. So my headphones plug in just like they do on my Fisher machine.
Mostly I have used the large coil and have figured out how to use the fast recovery and the pinpoint mode to separate targets in trashy areas pretty well. I have the small coil as well, but don't have much time on it. Mostly digging clad, not much in the way of old coins to be recovered here. Topsoil is very deep, and I routinely dig zinc cents and clad at 6-8 inches. It finds a lot of nickles and dimes on edge.
