Awesome man glad u were able to make it out. That Eq is a great deep park hunter. I'm gonna have to buy another one. I'll only go with the 600 though this time.

It was nice to get out. It's feels like it's been a long winter.

Deep Park Hunter? I've always thought of my Etrac, which I just sold, as my DEEP PARK HUNTER. However, this past year my 800 has done a nice job on deeper targets, mostly with the stock 11" coil.

Last year, I happened upon a newer park full of deep clad coins. It was heavily watered. I was digging quarters and dimes and nickels and copper pennies between 5-9" (measured with my pinpointer from the beginning of the soil) one after the next. There were some deeper targets and some newer drops that were shallower. But the majority of targets were in that 5-9" range and easy for my 800 to hit. No sweat. All day long. I visited the park several times.

The clad coins weren't too exciting, HOWEVER, it was really good practice. I had the opportunity to work on finding optimal modes, settings, swing speed, and so forth. This was incredibly valuable to me in speeding up the process of LEARNING a new machine.

Now, when I go to my local old park or the yard of an old home, I KNOW that my settings are good and what my 800 is capable of doing. I know what good targets on the outer fringe of detection sound like and how my target ID responds.

Of course this learning process continues for as long as I own a particular detector and hunt with it. The more I use it, the more I learn it and the better my results will be for a given area.

I know you're very fond of your Deus and have similar experiences as you've spent time with it learning all of the nuances in the places that you hunt. Have you tried using the Deus in a "deep park" situation? If so, what are your thoughts?
