This is my first Minelab detector, do I don’t really have any other Minelab to compare it with, but I don’t find the tones on the Equinox to be annoying or unpleasant. In 2 tone it is almost identical to my Whites MX5 which I really like. So far I have only used 2 tone and 5 tone and I like both.
