Kraemer,
No worries, it was all a little tongue in cheek. Gregg and Monte have been working me about my "questionable" taste in detectors for a long time.

(You can't blame them for liking what works for them, can you?) As for what works for me, I've preferred the Minelab detectors I've had over the last 20 years for hunting the yards of old homes and such. As for detectors to use at the WTHO's, the last outing I spent the majority of my time with my new Deus w/9" x35 coil and Nokta CoRe with the 5" OOR coil. Both Detectors seem to excel in these type of places. Both came up with some keepers. I feel like I did well.
As for the Equinox 800, all I care to say is that mine is really good. About 5 years ago I decided I needed to change things up a bit for my own reasons. I talked to Monte about the challenges in my area, the hunters I was competing with. I listened to his thoughts. The detectors that I currently use most of the time (in my signature) are the result of the changes I made. I'm really happy with what I have right now. And I appreciate Monte's willingness to share his expertise.
As for marketing plans and all that stuff, if I took all of the detector adds I've read since the 70's literally, I'd be digging all silver and gold jewelry, half-dimes at 24" and never chasing after a rusty bent nail or wad of foil.
