I had to run into town for a couple errands this morning and thought I'd take along a detector and swing past a couple detecting sites if I had some extra time.
There was time, so I grabbed the 800 and did a quick hunt (1-1.5 hrs) at a Park on Monte's list from last years Ogden WTHO.
Very first target was a deep War Nickel (8") , followed by a Wheatie (5 1/2") and then a Mercury Dime (5"). I managed one shallow clad dime and a nickel to round out the finds. Just a little bit of trash.
I was looking for masked targets and was trying out some settings I'd started experimenting with following the last Equinox software update - the Fe2 settings. Lowering the reactivity and Iron bias had me moving slow as usual. I am pleased with the results.
A funny side note; the coins were found in the same general area of the park, but weren't close to each other. They were all minted in San Francisco in 1945.
Detector - EQ800.
