I agree I think low conductors for the most part are past over because the targets get pulled down in iron and/or the audio drowns them out. I can guarantee you that's the case with small gold coins. I found my first gold coin in 2016 a $5 with my Minelab Explorer 2. It was a total shock because the signal was so iffy I wasn't sure if it was ground noise or an actual target.
Since that first one I really started to research both sites and metal detectors that would optimize my time in finding gold coins. Over the past 4 years its paid off. Maybe one day when I have more time I'll give some more details on what I've learned.
