I sold my equinox 800 last summer and missed it. I decided to buy another one recently right before price went up. I used the military discount. Good deal.
Took advantage of the perfect weather yesterday and went to a park that had some buildings on it in the 30s, 40s. Equinox did not disappoint. Nothing crazy but I was working around plugs from someone else who recently detected there. I found clad, 6 wheat pennies from 1920s to 50s. Play money 5 cents and a 1945 S war nickel. The war nickel was terrible out of the ground so I soaked it in lemon juice over night. First silver of 2021? Lol. Thanks for looking.
P.S. I was using 11 inch stock coil. Park 2. 5 tones. Recovery 4. Iron bias 0. Nickels i had come in at a high tone.
Hey Goondock,
Nice job on the finds and congrats on the re-acquisition of an 800.
Your park setup is similar to mine. In parks with plenty of conductive trash, I use Park 1, 5 tones, and have my nickels (12-13) set for a higher tone so they are easy to differentiate from foil (below) and tabs (above) and then let the 800 do the work. I listen to all targets, whether ferrous or non-ferrous.
My 800 does a very nice job of finding those difficult targets missed by others. And yes, about silver war nickels. Good find. I like silver dimes, quarters and halves as well.

Some count the silver war nickels as silver coins, others don't. It's your list, do it whichever way YOU like.
