I've been doing a lot of testing lately in a trashy environment (rusty tin and nails - the environment we'll be up against in Nevada ghost towns. Models I've tested: Equinox 800 (6" DD), Apex (5" DD), Impact and Anfibio (5" DD and 7" CC), MXT Pro (5.3" CC), Classic III (Blue Max 350) and Fisher F5 (4" CC). In my opinion, the Equinox is the best of the bunch! Mine has Steve's Detector Rods carbon fiber setup with the counter balance, which makes it all the more better.
