The 800 has survived my performance tests the last 4 plus years ive used it. If a detector lacks depth capability or separation or target ID accuracy, or is uncomfortable to use, it shows up and we end up parting ways.
I've shared trip reports and pic's demonstrating just some of the 800 success I've had here on AHRPS for whatever those are worth. I've enjoyed your video trip reports with your 800 and other detectors as well. Fun and informative along with some great finds.
In a nutshell, there are overwhelming success stories out there for anybody interested, yet each has to use their own judgment in selecting detectors that will perform where they intend to use them, are within their ability to understand and adjust the controls and lastly, are enjoyable for them to use.
I've told Monte I don't think the 800 is a good fit for him and I still don't. Same for the D2. Just my thoughts. Just because i believe it is a poor fit for Monte doesn't mean it is a poor fit for all. I see others here on AHRPS greatly enjoying their 800's and having excellent success, myself included. Find shoes that fit and are comfortable and are appropriate for where you're going.
