. . . finding all of the conductive targets? Or finding the highest radio of good targets to bad targets for the amount of time invested?
I have a Mojave and Bandido as well as an 800 and D2. The two Tesoro's will do an excellent job for me of clearing out an area of conductive targets to a certain depth. It may take a lot of time, but I will get them. That is NOT very productive nor efficient with time, but does recover all possible good targets.
On the other hand, the two modern detectors will allow me to look for targets beyond the reach of the first two and be selective with the IDs that I dig. I may bypass a keeper that has an unusual ID with the target ID detectors. But is it worth it for my overall production?
With the Tesoro's, I can roll the disc knob, increasing the disc point to approximate the drop out point and make an educated guess of the ID, but it is faster and more accurate to just look at a screen.
If productivity is the highest number of 'best' targets found for the time invested, which group is the best to select to use?

makes ya wonder if it can be said that "any" detector that you KNOW WELL
with a small coil attached can be just as productive in junk as the latest and greatest! case in point! "gridding areas with the compadre, Mojave, and Bandido 2 Tesoro's with the small coils eliminating small iron.
