Having a little down-time fun doing some battery comparisons with a couple of people, using some Alkaline, NiMH and other rechargeable batteries and using just the assorted detectors we own. Putting in fresh or fully-charged batteries and letting the detectors stay On with some continuous target signals and Sensitivity on High/Max. Ray-O-Vacs are next in the Alkaline group, then NiMH of which I have 3 with the RnB Battery of different brands. The only detector I currently have ready-to-go with a li-Ion rechargeable battery is my V-540 with the RnB battery.
According to the different Dealers / Sellers who list one of these Made-in-China RnB battery devices say the Vanquish can run 30 hours on a full charge. That is when using headphones, but for our testing we are letting the detectors run at Full Sensitivity and with their speakers which, in theory, should reduce the battery run-time. I am looking forward to the results we will get from the RnB's as well as various Alkaline and NiMH AA batteries with Volume on High and Sensitivity on High.
Just something else to do when we face down-time due to cold, white, wintry weather.
