Testing Update we decided upon.

1.. Because all three of us use a Vanquish 540, but have quite a different assortment of other detectors, we decided to limit our 'Testing' to ONLY the Minelab Vanquish 540 we own.

2.. Because we each took different approaches to monitoring the 'Run Times' it was decided to re-test the various Batteries, fresh Alkaline and fully-charged NiMH and RnB Lithium, and keep track of the Battery Bar changes, and STOP the testing time when the last Single Battery bar starts 'flashing' to indicate a time-to-change batteries according to the manual.

3.. The Vanquish Battery Strength Bar is only 3 segments, so we monitor when it goes from a Full indication of 3 Bars, drops to 2-Bars, drops to 1-Bar and then Stop the time when that last bar starts flashing.

So, we are all in the very noisy process of re-testing all of the batteries we have. Right now I am working with 4-AA Alkaline batteries from Albertsons / United Grocery (owned by Albertsons since 2012), and have already tested 4-AA Alkaline batteries from Tractor Supply and 4-Alkaline that were Ray-O-Vac High Energy. I have 4 fully-charged NiMH from Minelab, that came with the V-540, 4-AA NiMH Varta 2100 mA I got from Nokta/Makro, and 4-AA NiMH 1900 mA White and 1900 mA Blue Eneloops, plus the RnB Lithium 6000 mH rechargeable.

When we finish this week I will post the end results here.

NOTE: ALL battery testing and comparisons need to be done with the same detector model and same batteries. The Run-Time for a Vanquish is going to be different from any-other make or model. These 'tests' are only for those of us using a Vanquish because we have determined the typical 'Run-Time' tends to be shorter than what we generally get with other 4-AA powered detectors, and we wanted to see what some battery battery decisions are for them.
