How many hours you get outta' the 4 alkalines?
My V-540's were Pro Pack versions that came with rechargeable NiMH batteries. I was mainly used the 9X12 coil and hunting with it, a Nokta Simplex + and Garrett Apex. The V-540 was at half-battery or lower before the other two showed much run-time. I tried Alkaline batteries with the same results. Now they run on RNB batteries without a problem.
