I'm anxious to findout how the 4" Concentric and 5" DD coils compare.

Most of the FTP detectors are not really great performers in some really dense nail or other ferrous plagued sites, but in the past several years the Omega 8000 w/5" DD did help find a few keepers here and there. I mainly work dense trash, but some Coin Hunting places also present some challenges and the 5" DD helped there, too, but I'm very interested in the 4" Concentric coil's performance.

I used to use the 5" DD on an extra Omega 8000 and G2, and since then I've used that same coil on several other FTP offerings like a couple of Euro-Tek Pros, a few F19's and more, with so-so performance. Better than the stock coil in trashier places, but they fell way short in performance for the really challenging dense nail sites we hunt. The only FTP device that bettered them was the Tek. T2 with its own 5" DD coil. That used to be my dense-trash Relic Hunting combination until is was easily bested.

But I added the two Omega 8000's, and now two Fisher F44's, back into my Detector Outfit primarily for Coin & Jewelry Hunting in traditional urban coin producing locations. I have a 5" DD on my 2nd Omega right now and it works OK because most coin producing sites are reasonably free of nails and other ferrous junk. But I am very interested in how the two coils perform so I can pick the best of the two to mount on one of my Fisher F44's where I can also benefit from the Iron Audio Volume adjustment, like you can on the Euro-Tek Pro.

The coils should arrive Monday and I'll be evaluating them for a few days side-by-side with the 5" DD and I'll report back in about a week.

Search coil assignments based on site selection and detector behavior.

Yes, smaller-size coils can rule the day, and I just added my smallest-size coil yesterday.

The 4" Concentric coil does NOT get 'good depth.'
