A lot of places to work in Nevada compared with most other states, and even all the sites we've been hitting during the past five years of Outings still hold a lot of good keepers. I've been looking for any old photos of some of those town sites, and also checking on other possible locations close to the Wells 'hub' ... as well as different locations with a new 'hub' to base an Outing out of.
Every year since the
1st WTHO in
2015 there have been some excellent old coins, trade tokens, and even some better nice artifacts recovered on every Outing. I've been hoping that even another rip there might be more eventful because there could be a lot of weed loss in places like Toano, and that would expose some of the good territory we hunted on the earlier trips before all those weeds grew in there.
All of us learn how to better work some of those old sites, and many of us are using newer or different detectors than before which can provide us with improved results. Different search coils and settings, or just slowing down a bit to be more patient and work potential areas more slowly and methodically can produce results.
I better shut up and go back to dreaming about warmer and drier weather in old places to hunt, but yes, Nevada ...
somewhere ... is still on the radar.
