Trouble for me is that it is in the cost neighborhood of the Minelab CTX 3030, $2300-$2500.
This is bucking the price wars trend we've seen the last couple of years.
I ve been a fan of the Minelab FBS detectors ever since I bought my first Explorer XS. They were pricey, but performed well. When the ctx 3030 came out, the water hunters jumped, and many of the land hunter joined in. I stayed with my e-trac. The $2500 was a bit much for my pocketbook at the time. And the weight was quite a bit. There were some o-ring troubles with the battery compartment. And I wasn't doing any water hunting at all so why go the extra money and weight for the onboard gps system, water resistance and fbs2
Being in the water hunting game is as inexpensive now as the cost of a Nokta Simplex +. Just a matter of how serious you are about it. This new impulse AQ is serious. It's sole purpose for existence is finding gold rings. (Lower conductors). It isn't designed to look for higher conductivity coins, sterling jewelry or the like. this will be a turn off for many.
Anyway, looks like Fisher (First Texas Products) is serious.
