It's sad the company with so many models has so little forum and poster interest. confused smiley

FTP, offering all those Bounty Hunter, Fisher and Teknetics models, has the lowest interest with posts as well. I do like a few of what they offer today, and really like the 'brand new' older-model I acquired a couple of months ago, the Fisher F5. I almost bought one 10-12 years ago and today I regret that I didn't. There's no such thing as a 'perfect' or 'all-purpose' detector that doesn't have a weakness, so I like to look for all the positives I can find in any detector. If there are enough check-marks in the positive column, it's maybe worth having.

Even though this is a brand new production unit, and very affordable at just under $300, it dates back for me to include it with some of my 'older-dated' favorites, such as my Bandido II µMAX, Silver Sabre µMAX and XLT. But it offers some performance and adjustment capability that gives me some performance and advantages over the new or modern detectors I've settled on, to include the Simplex +, Vanquish 540 and Apex.

Stuck indoors doe to mending from my hospital stay and the unpleasant wintry weather, it allows us some time to sit and chat with our detectors, one-on-one, and get to know them better. That's what I do every day for at least a little while. Get to know them better, both the goods and bads, so when the time comes to escort them afield, we'll both have a better idea of how they perform and what to expect.

For me there is only one model in the entire FTP product line that offers adjustment features I like and and use, as well as provide me with a different level of performance than most of my other detectors. Thus, the Fisher F5 complements my other devices very well, as they do it.

If you have been looking for something different, and glance through FTP's offerings, don't hesitate checking out the Fisher F5, as well as accessory coils. That's one of the reasons I bought it because I already had a round 7" Concentric coil on-hand, and that's an almost perfect combination for a lot of the urban Coil & Jewelry sites I will enjoy hunting this.

Just some things to think about.
