recently and we reminisced about
"The Good Old Days" and how busy he was from the mid-'80s through the '90s dealing with the longer-life metal detecting companies, some newer outfits, and a few that had a lot of ownership change before they finally folded up and his services were needed. He had a lot of 'clients' back then, such as Relco, Jetco, Treasure Ray, DeTex, Gold Mountain and Gold Mountain Technologies, Pillar and many others who closed their doors. I last knew he was around when the original Teknetics and Bounty Hunter died and were sold off, and when Compass bit the dust.
The 'mid-''80s and thru the mid-to-latter '90s he said he was as busy as the frontier-era undertakers and sign makers, but it's been quiet for quite a while. Business picked up the last two or three years with the end coming for Tesoro Electronics and then White's Electronics and he figured he ought to be ready for the future and relocate close to 'business' and was just passing through.
I bid him farewell and asked where he was headed on his westward journey. He said El Paso seemed like a likely place to be.
