Okay, Okay ... I know that was a bit tongue-in- cheek, but ....

FTP has brought us a few good models in the past decade or two, and the T2's physical design is easily one of the best still today. The have a nice facility; they to have the financial ability; and they have a good set of design engineers who are quite capable in detector design. But there are problems or "issues".

** For one, we have not seen any new, creative, up it is up-to-date models come out.

** I thought about getting another brand new T2 +, but when I looked at the Teknetics Direct website it shows the T2 and the T2 Classic, but it does not show their most recent offering, the T2 +.

** One of the downfall's white electronics head was terrible marketing and that includes their website, definitely their website. Their detector models displayed in a random wild order not consistent with a model series or price, just . terrible.

In this modern era it is very important it's very important to have a good come up-to-date, website website. Some of the best websites out there in the metal detecting industry would be Nokta/Makro and Garrett. Current, uo-to-date products and videos, etc.

Then you look at the Fisher Labs website. Models listed that also say Out-Of-Stock. And there is a big 'NEW' symbol by the F44, F22, F11 and F75+, and those first three have been around for 2+ years and are not 'New detectors. And a big interest model, the F19, also shows Out-Of-Stock.

With the excellent physical design of the T2 and F75 along with having the capital and the engineering team,m hoping we see something new come from FTP very soon. And I also hope they invest some of their money to hire a-sharp sinking individual to update their website. It's worse than White's was before they went under.

The metal detecting industry is nowhere like it was back in the mid eighties mid-eighties and for a short while after, so let's all hope that the existing manufacturers can do what they need to do to stay alive and well. And that means be creative and bring us something we want.
