Started hunting in high mineralization back in early '65 before

we were evr discussing 'mellow ground ' or 'mild ground' or 'average ground ' or 'very mineralized ground'. Today it seems to be a key ingredient in a lot of conversations about detector design, operating frequency and search coil size and type. Interesting.

Yes, there can be some subtle differences and when ground is really bad it can play more of a role in performance, but in reality, all detectors SHOULD be evaluated / tested/ during their design stage, especially these days, and be capable of operating well in any significantly different ground make-up.

I know that all of the models in my current Detector Team have proven that to me going back to when I first started using them, and even though a lot of the ground here in mid-west Texas is pretty decent compared to the places I used to roam in Orgon, Idaho, Utah and Nevada, I still encounter a few areas with high iron content.

Harold, 90% of the ground I hunted was high mineralization.
