Yes Drew, it is going to be fun (and very interesting) learning this little jewel.--------Del
Hi Del,
I will be in class with you, XP Deus 101. I purchased the identical outfit as you did last year just before seasons end and will be eagerly awaiting spring thaw for "school" to start.
Some of the Deus guys on the Canadain forum have offerred me the advice to pick a program and stick with it for around 100 hours minimum field time before starting to play with the various settings which is good advice for most highly adjustable detectors IMHO. In a Nutshell:
1} pick a program, (they seem to like Deus Fast as a start point)
2} Put in sufficient field time to get a handle on target sounds/responses
3} Evaluate your results, program working for your sites and desired targets Y/N if No pick a different program & start again
4} When you have picked the program that you like/find best start to experiment with tones, reactivity, etc, over some live targets
5] Have fun!smileys with diet Dr. Pepper float
