Deus thoughts

Yesterday, a friend and I ventured out to an old mining town once spread throughout a steep canyon. Snow was a receding towards the peaks and we had areas to search on the steep hillsides. I've toted a wide variety of detectors here over the decades and it is always a challenge to be swinging a heavy detector as I work a steep sidehill. A heavy detector is a fun killer in this place and can bring an early end to the day.

I tease a bit about the French featherweight, but when it comes to the ease and comfort of swinging, to date, I've not used a detector in the same league.

You mention the Deus audio, and I agree, the audio is excellent and descriptive.

I agree, Rich. Although I was curious about the XP buzz, if a good deal hadn't come along I don't think I would have one. But I am enjoying less wear and tear on my ol' sore wrist. And I really like the pinpointer paired to my headphones. It's great for noisy environments and for us hearing impaired types.

"And it find things." The Indian Head I just found was something any good detector should have found, out in the open with no other targets nearby. However, the dime was not a good TID (I find myself using TID less and less, especially because it changes with the frequency, and I don't have enough brain cells to recall them in each. Perhaps that will come later) and when I dug the iffy signal there was a 3 inch nail that was probably under the coil at the same time.

No telling if that is what saved the dime for me, but the audio was interesting enough to follow up.

So I would encourage anyone who is curious to give one a try and tell us what YOU think.

Preferring a 'simpler' circuitry design, I really like the ORX.
