Volunteering out of town on a wildlife habitat project with the Oregon Hunters Association, I got the chance to detect in the evening after “work.” I headed off to a nearby school site and dodged being skunked by finding a Washington State sales tax token way back under a large sagebrush. It is aluminum but the soil at this site is kind to coins and it’s a very good specimen, and my first.
At our impromptu campsite I found a large Great Seal button. I thought it was cool but modern. I checked the backmark when I got home and discovered it was an American Button Co, meaning it it was manufactured between 1901 and 1920. More cool than I thought!
I used my XP Deus with the 9”x5” coil and switched between GM Power and the Hot program.
