Back to the XP offerings. I know I really like the ORX, especially with the 5X9½ HF coil for my wants and needs, and I think it might be something that, over time, Gregg could come to like for some sites. But Gregg mainly hunts only those old, iron littered sites, and any detector he tries is going up against a CoRe and Relic which are very proven and tough competition for any rival.
Gregg does NOT need any XP Juice. However, it might not hurt to serve up a swig of XP Patience Juice. It works better than a brand-flavored beverage.

So ya think I need an ORX machine?? I know I should give one an honest try and see how it goes. Plus I need to get over the hurdles that an ORX machine presents and just deal with it.
On those far away outings like deep down in NV at the end of the day I just tuck my CoRe away in the Pickup and then take it out the next day ready to go. I will have to change the way I do things I guess. Once I pull in front of the motel, I have to remember not to just jump out rush into the room, get showered and get across the street to the casino to meet everyone.
Now I pull in front of the motel room and this is where the XP patience juice comes into play. First thing take a swig ( or two) then dig the machine back out from behind the seat in the pickup.
Once in the room, and this is where another dilemma starts. Most of these old motels only have one wall socket for electricity ( See Picture #1) and the dilemma is, instead of a single cell phone to charge back up, I now have three other electronical components that also need charging ( coil, control housing/display & Headphones.) But if you look at Picture #1 that presents a problem to do it all at once. So I can do two and set the alarm on my cell phone to awake me at 2am so that I may unplug the first two items and charge the remaining two items.
But luckily I did find the very much needed XP charging accessory ( works with all XP & ORX machines) so granted, that does take some of the frustration out of the equation. ( See Picture #2) At least now I can just get the machine into the room and get everything started charging at once......then jump in shower, rush to casino etc etc. The only thing left, is don't forget and leave your machine in the room the next morning when you head out for some adventure.
I can see some advantages to maybe getting an ORX machine:
#1 Put me in good graces with Monte ( and Del too) and still receive invites to future WTHO Outings.
#2 I might be allowed back into the AHRPS XP Forum
#3 The more older and more feebler I get........it really is a very nice lite machine to swing
So I will give it some thought...........never say never.
