My wife came home one afternoon saying she saw a house in the old part of town that was blocked up, evidently in the process of being prepared for a foundation to be added. I checked the tax records to learn the owner, hoping to get permission to detect. No luck, so I began driving by every time I went to town, and finally talked to the owner about hunting there.
After getting the green light I went back on a very nasty weather day last week. My scores weren’t as good as I had hoped, but it was fun to get out. Two wheat pennies, a 1919 and a1951, a 1963 county dog license, and a couple recent but unique tokens. Also, I found this item in the video I thought was a 1” ball bearing. However it is not magnetic, rings like a zinc penny, and even though it is perfectly round it rolls crazily instead of true. If you look close, there is a tiny hole that is about 3/8” deep about the diameter of a paper clip wire. Another mystery!
I was using my new 9” X35 coil I got from Kickindirt (thank you!) using mostly the “deep” program.
Well, for some reason the video doesn’t play for me on the forum.
