can work against us when it comes to detector performance and detectability. I used to use a 'Homestead Rock' I found at an old homestead site north of you in the Grasslands Area when I did my seminars or other presentations, just to show how many detectors couldn't handle what I referred to as
"an intense mineral body'. That 'Homestead Rock' measured 6"X9"X1½-2" thick ...
until, I dropped it when I moved and it broke apart on the concrete floor.
Many detectors today also struggle when we even have a smaller-size mineralized rock over or too close to a desired target, and that's one reason I like to investigate
(aka recover) 'iffy' signals. If we only rely on rock-solid VDI read-outs and great audio response we are leaving keepers behind.
