I've been swinging the Deus for a long time now. I've spent alot time using them all. The earlier release Low freq coils seemed to favor the 18 kHz. Meaning the 18 kHz seemed to be the most effective frequency. With the last few updates which also brought out the release of the high freq coils then the new X35 coils, frequencies seem to be more evenly matched where they all seem to have great performance. Right now I am currently loving the 8 kHz on the X35 coils and the 28 kHz range on the high freq coils. If you want to make sure you didn't miss anything go back over a area with the 28-31 kHz. I guarantee you will pull a few keepers and be scratching your head thinking how the heck did something this big get missed? I've had what I consider good success with pretty much all the frequencies except the higher ones at 54 kHz and above. Haven't used those. I know they are affective but the 28 kHz has been plenty sensitive for me.
As far as simultaneous multi freq machines go. So far in my experience they are not the most effective way of hunting my type of sites. With that said I'll stick to the single selectable freq machines for now. Single selectable freq seems to be very good at letting a guy know and where is not the best freq. I like that and it seems to work for me. I would still love to see Xp make a simultaneous freq coil just cause I know it would run circles around the minelabs. Ha ha ha. It was the 18 kHz that I found my gold coin with. A customized version of deus fast program. Basically deus fast program with full tones selected instead of the 3 tone. Minimal disc. One thing I've learned over the years swinging the deus is you dont have to change much to the factory programs. They are built to find stuff and will. Find a program that you think will work for your site conditions, change to your favorite tones and go!!
