My program for parks

August 23, 2020 02:34AM
The main problem in the parks around here is small bits of foil and bottle caps. I created a program that is working great for me and I thought I would share it with anyone that might be interested. I started with the GM Power program. Here are the settings:

Discrimination: 0
Expert: Full Tones
Notch: 10 to 41 (knocks out most small foil)
Reactivity: 2
Sensitivity: 95 (adjust as needed)
Frequency: 12
Iron Volume: 2
Audio Response: 3

With these settings, when I do the “wiggle back” on a target when it gets to the tip of the coil, if it is a bottle cap I will get the iron tone loud and clear and there is no doubt about it, it’s a bottle cap.

Larger bits of wadded up foil will still sound off, but above 41 you are getting into the small gold range. Notching out 10-41 might eliminate some very, very tiny gold, but I figure the trade off is worth it.

I didn’t try to eliminate pull tabs, because they are right in the middle of the gold ring range. So I dig them. I’ve been surprised a few times with a gold ring.

I am really enjoying the Deus. It fits all of my needs perfectly, and I don’t think that I will ever need to purchase another detector. I have found the one for me. I just wish that I had gotten one years ago. My back would have been a lot happier.
