XP HF coil troubles with breakage -

August 25, 2020 11:09PM avatar
If I summarize correctly,

1. XP HF Coils are not as sturdy as the other models of XP coils due to the remote battery in the lower rod. The wire path from the coil thru the lower rod creates a weak point. Check.

I see many detectorists use their detector to assist themselves in getting up and down to retrieve targets. The side pressure on the lower rod and coils ears can weaken the material over time. SNAP!

2. XP Deus / ORX controllers not waterproof. Pretty sure it says so in the owners manual too. Check

My Nokta FORS CoRe wasn't rain proof either. sad smiley If it isn't rain proof, I shouldn't be hunting if the controller could get wet. eye rolling smiley Lesson learned.
