Sunny but cold today but one last day to hunt in 2020. Lots of frost in the ground, especially in the shade. I decided to try a different spot that I had heard about from a club member. Not too far into the junipers from the road I started finding GI ration cans and debris. Then a decent signal and a 1940 wheat. A foot away a Merc dime. Yahoo! Mission complete! Well, I still have some time, let’s see what else we can find. 100 feet away I found five 5 gallon cans and started working the immediate area. A good signal in the midst of ration cans turned up a 1919 wheat, then not too far from there a 1941 nickel. Alas, not a SILVER nickel, but I’ll take it. And a nice way to finish out the year.
I was using my Deus with the 11” original coil and a custom program I call “Sifter” that I copied from Andy Sabisch’s Deus Handbook.
Happy New Year to all and here’s hoping for a better 2021
