I happen to like the XP
ORX, and I did put in quite a bit of time evaluating that model and using it in several old sites I enjoy hunting.
It is a simple and easy to use detector without a lot of nonsensical adjustments which I happen to like, which also made it easy to learn and use, and therefore to know and understand. I determined the two favorite modes to save for my uses with the operating frequency that provided the performance I needed for each of those modes.
I used three different search coils and my personal preference is the 5X9.5 HF DD coil for both Urban coin hunting as well as hunting the old Relic Hunting sites I have long enjoyed.
I speak favorably of the ORX to a lot of people and encourage them to consider it based upon what they are shopping for. As for me and my preferences, I really struggled to trade that package off to Hombre and actually kind of started to miss it before it even reached the post office. I like the compactness, I like the lightweight design, I find it very comfortable to use the field. I enjoyed the control housing in the XP wrist or arm holder. I like the MI6 pinpointer and ability to hear it in the headphones.
I learned the detector I like the detector and I enjoyed the design Simplicity and performance field. However, due to increasing Health limitations I needed to work at trimming my detector Arsenal down for mainly coin hunting Urban locations and only periodic Relic hunting. I really like it, I miss it, I would not mind acquiring another one if my health improved, however it isn't. And I think OregonGregg possibly come to like it if he gets past the multi-component charging requirement. Like you, I will be glad to help him with that model all I possibly can.
Now, with all that said, I wish the best to him in learning a truly decent detector that I do like. I just had to make some total detector outfit adjustments for my wants and needs.
