I've done that alot already in my short lived detecting history. I'm already regretting letting my ORX go for a relic. Even though I have a deus lol. Also regretting letting go of all my tesoros.

Joel, my "detecting history" has been a long one and there have been many detectors I have regretted letting go ... but in your case I have a different view. Much if it can be related to the views / opinions of OregonGregg. He has a much shorter "detecting history" than many, but has a narrower scope of interest than the 'average' hobbyist and I can completely agree with his feelings.

Gregg doesn't do urban Coin Hunting, and he's also not into the 'deeper depth' desires we often read about. He only works at Relic Hunting old-use sites that are often thick with weeds and brush but even more challenhing due to thick amounts of nails, other ferrous and non -ferrous debris and rusty tin.

Two things are important for continued success, and those are a blend of exceptional detector performance and the use of a smaller-size search coil. For Gregg, he has that with a FORS CoRe and FORS Relic with their smallest coils, and in moderately-littered places a Racer 2 with a small to mid- sized coil.

Now, in your case, the Deus might serve you fine, but personally I agree that the ORX can be a very versatile 'do-it-all' detector which is why I added it back into my outfit.

But even the XP devices are not perfect so my ORX is just a complement to my terrific-working Garrett units, too favorite Tesoro models, and my Relic w/5" DD that is always mounted because it makes a great Relic Hunting set-up for those tough Iron contaminated sites.

I suggest keeping the Relic w/5" DD and just reacquiring an ORX to complement your Outfit. And maybe one versatile Tesoro as well.
