Sunday was the coolest day we’ve had for a while so I detected for the first time since Memorial Day. Explored a new area adjacent to a military area we hunted in May but turned up absolutely nothing. Cross that one off the list!
Hoping not to get skunked for the day I returned to a spot where last time I found five Merc dimes. It took four miles but I ended up with two more, a 1940 and a 1943. The ‘43 was especially gratifying because it was in a patch of bottle caps standing on edge 3” deep. With the elliptical coil on the Deus, just a little squeak next to a bottle cap.
I was using a custom program that needs more tuning, but really hits on all targets. The x-y screen is very helpful for dig/no dig decisions.
Based on Deus Fast; disc -3 (3 tone), sens 90, freq 14.4,reactivity 2, audio response 4, no notch.
