I do like the Deus 2 for relic hunting trashy spots, much more than the Equinox. Took the Deus 2 to the Great Salt Lake yesterday and it does very well there. Going to be a great beach hunting machine IMO.
I had three of the Vanquish 540's and an Equinox 800, mainly using the 5X8 DD and 6" DD respectively for some iron littered ghost towns. They worked, but not enough to impress me over what I already had for that type of environment. I did have a few XP ORX models and I definitely liked them much better for Relic Hunting tough iron locations than the Minelab products.
Glad to hear you had some huntable weather yesterday for the GSL. One of the nearby locations I used to enjoy getting out to on occasion, but that was when I could get around a lot better than I have the last twenty+ years. I also used to make periodic trips to the coastal beaches when I lived in Oregon and was curious how well some of these newer models are handling the wet-salt environments. I am sure you'll like the Deus II for a lot of places you'll wander to.

Let's hope a good spring weather season arrives soon as I am hoping my now-listed house sells in a hurry so I can get moved that direction. It's been beautiful this past week, but today we only hit about 65° and a cold front has us down to 39° at 3 PM and will make Monday, Tuesday and Friday unpleasant here. Then it will mostly back up in the mid-60° to upper 70° range through the 20th. Sure wish my rehab progress would improve so I could grab a cane again to get out and enjoy it. Oh well, I still have three months until the WTHO in June.
Enjoy the Deus II and I'll watch for reports.
