I have compared it with the Equinox and the Equinox is better for smaller nuggets. The D2 is ok on .25 gram and larger nuggets though.

Of the detectors I own, hands down I would use the GPX 6000 for nugget hunting at Rye Patch. It will hit stuff as small as .05 grams and deeper than any VLF. The issue is the soil there is both moderate mineralized and salty. Most VLF machines can't ground balance for both issues at the same time.
